Adelaide has been a dedicated Realtor since 1986. She has consistently been among the top listing and selling agents, both in number of transactions and in dollar volume. She has earned the coveted designations of GRI (Graduate Realtors Institute), ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative) and CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) and also has a broker's license. Adelaide is a Regional Vice President of Sales of William Raveis Real Estates & Homes Services and the founder and leader of The Waring Team, LLC. She is a graduate, summa cum laude, of Upsala College and has 34 graduate credits in education from William Patterson College.
Adelaide has lived in Connecticut since 1980, having come here from New Jersey with her husband, The Rev. Thomas B. Waring. Adelaide, Tom and their young daughter Anne lived in East Norwalk. Since Tom's death in 1991, Adelaide married Lenwood W. Freas, an artist, who became Dad to Anne, as Adelaide became Mom to Len's grown daughters, Alyssa and Christie, both of California.
Adelaide, Len and Anne now live in the Cranbury section of Norwalk. Anne attends Norwalk Community College in Norwalk and works at Stew Leonards on weekends. Len paints and feeds the birds, deer, squirrels and anybody else who needs feeding. Their family also includes Copper Kitty, a stray from the Pet Animal Welfare Society - the last in a long line of adoptees.
Adelaide enjoys gardening, walking, reading and above all, singing. She sings with Chris Coogan's Good News Gospel Choir and the Fairfield County Chorale. She is a member of the American Association of University Women and the Daughters of the American Revolution, and serves as clerk of the Vestry at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Darien.
The Waring/Freas family are members of the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum, the Norwalk Maritime Center, the Wilton Arts Council, the Westport Nature Center and the Bruce Museum.
